Mary Bleiberg, Executive Director

Mary Bleiberg comes to ReServe after a decade at The After School Corporation (TASC). As Vice President of Policy and Program Development, she helped raise nearly $500 million in public and private funds, and create sustainable service and funding strategies that have led to a dramatic growth in the quality and availability of after-school services. Prior to working at TASC, Bleiberg served in a variety of government and not-for-profit organizations, including Safe Horizon, Urban Pathways, the New York City Human Resources Administration, City Volunteer Corps, and the Mayor's Office of Midtown enforcement.
Susan MacEachron, Deputy Executive Director

Susan MacEachron joined ReServe after working in the financial services sector for JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup. Her career as a lawyer and banker included working with financial products and managing corporate tax matters. Susan's most recent position was the Chief Financial Officer for the JPMorgan Global Marketing and Communication group, and Treasurer of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, which annually makes grants of $100 million. She received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and a B.A. from Brandeis University. She serves on the board of Concert Artists Guild.
Iowaka Barber, Director of Programs

Iowaka Barber has a diverse background in the nonprofit and private sectors, including serving as deputy director of communications at the Open Society Institute, associate director of development and communications at the East Harlem Tutorial Program, manager at Big Five consulting firm Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and senior placement coordinator of the international Fulbright scholarship program at the Institute of International Education. She also served as an adjunct faculty member for eight years in the digital media and communications design program at Parsons School of Design and has extensive training in institutional racism and leadership development. Iowaka received a M.S. in communications design from Pratt Institute and her B.A. from Meredith College. She is also a 2007 recipient of a United Way Senior Fellowship awarded to emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector and is currently participating in an M.P.A. program at Baruch.
Dan Cohen, Director of Education Services

Dan Cohen has joined ReServe as its first Director of Education Services. Dan will oversee the development and implementation of READY and ReServe's other school based/ education programs, recruiting and supporting both partners and ReServists. Before joining ReServe, Dan founded and served as President of an award winning television production company producing such shows as "A Cook's Tour" with Anthony Bourdain and "Boy Meets Grill" and "Throwdown" with Bobby Flay. Before that, he held several senior level positions at the New York Times Company, most recently as Senior Vice President of Advertising. Dan has served as a member of the Board of Children for Children as well as the Board of Overseers at Tufts University. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Professional Children's School and The Rainforest Alliance. He graduated from Tufts with a B.A. in Theatre and Oceanography.
Alexandra Lowe, Director of Fund Development

Alexandra Lowe came to ReServe in 2009 with a background in law, public policy, and child advocacy. As a member of the New York City Administration for Children's Services' senior management team for over a decade, she created and led New York City’s Families for Teens initiative, and spearheaded the City’s $11.5 million Foster Parent Recruitment, Training and Support program. She has pioneered the development of short, intensive training programs for social workers, lawyers, physicians and judges, and has guest-lectured about foster care and adoption at local, state and national conferences, universities and judicial institutes. She is a co-author of The Rights of Families, published by the ACLU, and has taught legal research, writing and oral advocacy at Brooklyn Law School. She has a law degree from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Economics and History from Harvard University.
Don Tinagero, Director of Director of Finance and Human Resources

Don Tinagero has over twenty five years of diverse Human Resources experience. Before joining ReServe Don worked in the financial services sector for Morgan Stanley and Dean Witter Discover. Prior to the financial services sector Don was a recruiter for Brookfield Associates. Don’s responsibilities included recruiting and placing sales executives, benefits administration, managing the hiring process of approximately one thousand people a month from over five hundred branch offices, , implementing voice processing for 401(k) administration, managing benefits banking, meeting with outside and internal auditors, and conducting benefit presentations. Don’s volunteer work has been with the VFW in Brewster, NY.
Jesse Dean, Marketing and Communications Manager

Jesse Dean joined ReServe in 2009 after working nearly a decade in the for-profit sector while attending school. In 2008, Jesse earned a B.A. with honors in Sociology from Columbia University, where he focused his studies in poverty and public policy. Jesse also earned an A.A. with honors in Writing and Literature from the Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY) in 2005. Jesse volunteers regularly and serves on the Board of the Columbia Pride Alumni Association.
Euriphile Joseph, National Strategy Manager

Euriphile Joseph joined ReServe after serving as the Special Assistant to the President at The After-School Corporation. She has held positions in project management and communications in both the private and public sectors; and has deep interests in the issues of aging and education – as related to social justice. At ReServe, she supports the replication of ReServe’s model in other localities across the US. Euriphile earned a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross, and an MA in Philosophy from Tufts University.
Scott Kariya, Senior Program Officer

Scott Kariya joined ReServe in 2008 following more than twenty years in executive recruiting. Specializing in Financial Services and Information Technology, Scott worked directly with corporate managers and executives to identify and hire key personnel. Prior to that, Scott worked for IBM as a Systems Engineer, and Johnson & Johnson as Financial Analyst. More recently, Scott was a Contributing Editor for IEEE Spectrum, the monthly magazine for electrical engineers worldwide, and a career counselor for The Five O'clock Club, a career guidance organization. Scott holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
Carolyn Cho, Program Officer

Carolyn Cho comes to ReServe with a background in the nonprofit, publishing and education sectors. Before joining ReServe, she served as Assistant to the Executive Director at the New York Council for the Humanities, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, where she helped organize statewide marketing and advocacy campaigns. Prior to that, she interned with the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, Condé Nast Publications and the Whitney Museum of American Art. In 2006, Carolyn was selected to participate in an international educational exchange program through the South Korean Ministry of Education. During this time, she served as Assistant Coordinator of School Programming and was awarded the honor of Educator Excellence in 2007 for her work. Carolyn is also a painter whose works were published in Brink Magazine in 2008. Carolyn graduated magna cum laude from New York University in 2006 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Philosophy.
John Pham, Program Officer

John Pham joined ReServe after graduating from Macaulay Honors College at the City University of New York with a B.S. in Public Affairs from Baruch College. As an intern for Citizens Union, he recruited 4,500 poll workers and language interpreters to alleviate New York City's Election Day staffing shortage. John also worked for the 23rd Street Association as a newsletter writer and website developer. He is a 2007 recipient of the American Humanics Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Grant and currently participates in the M.P.A. program at Baruch.
Risa Dubow, Program Coordinator

Risa joins ReServe as a VISTA with the inaugural class of the NYC Civic Corps. After receiving her BA from Union college, she participated in AmeriCorps NCCC and traveled the country doing service projects ranging from education to the environment to disaster response. This experience motivated her to continue working in the nonprofit sector to inspire others to serve their communities. American Humanics certified, Risa is excited to develop READY, ReServe’s new initiative aiming to have ReServists help increase college-going rates among NYC students.
Kelsey Moore, Program Coordinator

Kelsey Moore joined Reserve as a member of the inaugural class of Mayor Bloomberg's NYC Service Team. While pursuing a bachelor's degree in Psychology at New York University, she volunteered with Peer Health Exchange as a Health Educator and worked with Bell Curves as an SAT tutor and college advisor. Kelsey is excited to develop one of ReServe's newest initiatives, READY, which will place ReServists in high schools to help increase college awareness and promote college-going culture.
Abigail Lerner, Program Coordinator

Abigail Lerner joins ReServe with a background in volunteer management and older-adult civic engagement. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and English literature at the University of Pittsburgh in 2007, Abigail worked for the Jewish Association for Services for the Aged in New York City as the assistant director of volunteer services, where she helped to grow, manage and create programming for the volunteer department. She is a self-identified dog person and tries not to miss an episode or re-run of Jeopardy.
Diane Perez-Cruz, Program Assistant

Diane joins ReServe after working her way through Baruch College, where she graduated with a degree in Corporate Communications and a minor in Psychology. Diane was previously employed by a hotel design firm, where she worked closely with designers and clients. Diane also does volunteer work for an elementary school in the Dominican Republic.
Marija Vucak, Executive Assistant

Prior to joining Reserve, Marija worked at the CAMBA shelter service program, as an Office Manager for nearly 3 years supporting the administrative, social service and housing department staff. She earned a master’s degree in Public Administration with a dual specialization in Human Resources Management and Management and Operations at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. While pursuing her master’s degree Marija worked as a Loss Prevention Agent for Gap Inc.
Irma Smith, Administrative Assistant and ReServist

Irma Smith worked at Verizon for 32 years in a variety of capacities ranging from international operator services to administrative assistant. After four years in retirement, she joined ReServe. She also works as a volunteer at a food pantry managing its budget and inventory.
