How We Work ReServe seeks to serve retired professionals by placing them in part-time positions in nonprofit and city organizations throughout New York. The unusual aspect of the jobs is that they carry a stipend, which we believe encourages both the ReServist and the Partner Organization to take the placement more seriously and to fully utilize the ReServist's skills. ReServe offers a special advantage to Partner Organizations: we give you access to a pool of talented, experienced workers at well below their market value. ReServe places retired professionals who are motivated to share their skills and experience with a nonprofit or public sector organization for only the nominal stipend of $15 per hour! When you apply to ReServe, your application will be reviewed by our staff and entered into our database. Soon after we have processed your application, one of our Program Officers will get in touch with you to assess your needs and desires. This Program Officer will act as your personal contact at ReServe and will work to fill your positions. Once we have actual opportunities to fill at your organization, he or she will comb our database looking for matches. We will also post your job description for free on our online Opportunity Board. We pre-screen all our ReServists - if we think they are a good candidate on paper, then we post their biography onto the online Opportunity Board. When we find a good match for your organization, we also pass along a short bio (written by us) and resume for your review. If you are interested, we send the candidate over for an interview, and you make the decision whether to hire that individual. |
